Corrections policy

Vendors change plans and agreements often, and regulators issue new guidance. When we get something wrong or a fact goes out of date, we fix it in the open.

How to report a mistake

Pages with product facts, comparisons, prices and requirements carry a Report it form. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, link to the source that shows the correct fact. Vendors are welcome to report changes to their own products. Never include patient information.

What we do with a report

  1. We check the report against the primary source — the vendor's own documentation or agreement, or the regulation and HHS guidance — following our methodology. A report alone never changes a fact.
  2. If the fact was wrong or out of date, we correct it and update its check date on the page.
  3. Material changes — a vendor starting or stopping to offer a BAA, a plan change, a new rule or guidance — are also published in Updates, linked to the pages they change.
  4. If you left an email and asked for a reply, we let you know the outcome.

What doesn't change a page

Payment, partnership or pressure. We take no commissions and no vendor can buy a better rating — see how we make money. Rankings stay alphabetical and every product is judged on the same criteria.

Fact dates

Every product fact shows the date we last checked it. Facts not checked for more than 90 days are flagged on the page.
