Is Acuity HIPAA compliant?
Online scheduling by Squarespace. On the Premium or Powerhouse plan you sign a BAA in the account settings to make the account HIPAA-enabled.
Acuity Scheduling signs a Business Associate Agreement only under specific conditions. Available on the Premium or Powerhouse plan; each account becomes HIPAA-enabled only after its own BAA is signed in the account settings. The BAA doesn't cover other Squarespace features.
A BAA alone does not make its use HIPAA compliant: set it up as described under What to configure, and cover it in your risk analysis.

What you still have to configure
- Open the Scheduling Page panel > Settings > Become a HIPAA enabled account by signing a BAA, review the agreement and submit. During a trial you can download and review the BAA first. source
- Review email and text templates and internal notifications: HIPAA mode does not remove every identifying detail. Confirmation and rescheduling emails carry a calendar file (ICS) with the client's name, appointment type and time by default; contact Acuity support if these should be disabled. source
Limitations
- On HIPAA-enabled accounts, invoices and calendar sync with Office 365, Outlook.com, Live.com, Exchange and iCloud are unavailable, and email notifications sent to you leave out answers to client forms. The BAA does not cover the rest of the Squarespace platform. source
